With everybody making money off of Jaws- famed producer Dino De Laurentiis wanted bite at the apple too, attempting to create something that was “bigger, scarier, meaner than a Great White Shark!” Well…why not pick the animal that actually eats them? Pen a quick story about cetacean vengeance, throw in some A-list actors slumming, and you got yourself a perfectly serviceable cult horror film.
