Andy Kaufman wanted to make the film of his dreams, using his character as the subject matter, but he was flat-out turned down by the studios as they were concerned that he couldn’t carry a film. Join Chris as he takes a deep dive on Kaufman, discusses the virtues of anti-comedy, and Tony Clifton in this week’s offering, as the LSCE screens the 1981 cult classic “Heartbeeps.” Join us.
