Jim Henson’s noble attempt to show that you could do entertaining puppetry to tell a fantasy story that would be enjoyed by children and adults alike- a “serious film.” Oh, did I mention this evolved out of the strange Muppet sketches that occurred on the first season of SNL? Building a fantasy film where the story opens on the aftermath of genocide? A cult film that would spawn new technology as well as an entire new series 36 years after it’s release? This ya gotta see.
